BRIAN MOORE

PARTNER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

As the Managing Director and Founder of Pillar Companies, Mr. Moore is responsible for overseeing all functions within Pillar with particular emphasis on strategic direction, transaction sourcing, investor relations and operational matters.

Mr. Moore has acted as a principal in diverse private equity and real estate investments including land, residential real estate and commercial properties. He has been involved in the acquisition, development and management of thousands of acres of land throughout the Western U.S. and has participated in the acquisition of distressed debt portfolios with aggregate unpaid principal balance of more than $1 billion.

Prior to forming Pillar Companies, Mr. Moore was a Partner at Verhaaren Companies, a boutique private equity firm focused on real estate and distressed debt investments. Mr. Moore co-managed and oversaw all aspects of fund management including acquisitions, underwriting, portfolio management, dispositions and investor relations.

Previously, Mr. Moore was a Partner at Universal Equity Group, a real estate private equity firm. While at Universal, Mr. Moore participated in negotiating, structuring and closing a bankruptcy exit financing facility for one of the largest bankruptcies in the history of the State of Arizona. The bankruptcy estate consisted of a portfolio of acquisition, development, and construction loans with an unpaid principal balance of nearly $900 million.

Mr. Moore is a member of many professional organizations including the Urban Land Institute, the Turnaround Management Association and the Risk Management Association. Mr. Moore received his B.S. degree in Finance from Arizona State University and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Arizona.

CURTIS KELNER

PRINCIPAL

Mr. Kelner is responsible for sourcing and underwriting new investment opportunities, asset management and investor reporting.

Prior to joining Pillar Companies, Mr. Kelner spent four years at Holualoa Companies, an Arizona based real estate investment firm that owns over 3 million square feet of commercial space and more than 2,000 apartment units. Mr. Kelner was responsible for underwriting Arizona investments and asset management of select assets. While at Holualoa, he was involved in over $300 million of acquisitions, including office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties.

Mr. Kelner received his B.S. degree in Construction Management and his Masters in Real Estate Development, both from Arizona State University.

Prior to attending college, Mr. Kelner played minor professional hockey in the Western Hockey League for three years. His last season ended with the Spokane Chiefs in 2008, when the team won the Memorial Cup Championship, a trophy which is held in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

KELLY SOESBE

CONTROLLER

Ms. Soesbe is responsible for overseeing accounting and reporting functions for all of the Pillar managed companies and investment portfolios. She is a direct liaison with outside accounting and tax advisors. Ms. Soesbe also develops, implements and monitors effectiveness of internal policies, processes and compliance controls.

In addition, Ms. Soesbe is integral in overseeing the companies information technology and database management. She also ensures compliance with local, state and federal governments reporting requirements and tax filings.

Ms. Soesbe has over 30 years of financial and accounting experience and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Pacific University Oregon with a concentration in accounting.

DEANN INCE

ACCOUNTANT

Ms. Ince is responsible for day-to-day accounting of all Pillar managed companies and investments. She also provides investment analysis and monthly reporting.

Ms. Ince ensures the accurate flow of financial information throughout Pillar by creating and maintaining both internal and external reporting procedures. She is involved in all aspects of Pillar’s financial activities, from acquisitions, dispositions, distributions and tax filings.

Ms. Ince has over 20 years of financial experience and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University with a concentration in finance.
